Perspectives

GlobePerspectives on the World Christian Movement

MonksImagine the difference it would make in your life if God Himself would transport you to heaven and reveal to you the world as He sees it from His perspective in heaven.
You would feel God's great compassion for the lost. He would reveal how well His servants are doing to reach the lost. You would see first hand the importance that prayer has in releasing His power. You would marvel at the testimonies of people that have just recently responded to the Gospel in previously unreached tribal groups.
God would reveal to you the areas of the world where the need is greatest. You might even receive a vision of how God can use you and your talents to finish the task of taking the Gospel to the lost. In short, God would show you His heart. How could you ever be the same again?
Perspectives may not be as effective as actually spending time with God in heaven but it has been used by God to open the eyes of God's people to the marvelous things He is doing to help the Church complete the Great Commission. Once Christians see “God’s Big Picture” and get to understand God's design and goals in the world today, their lives are changed forever. They emerge as World Christians who are uniquely prepared to impact the world by thinking and acting globally with knowledge.

What makes it unique?
Perspectives is probably the best missions class to date. Developed by missionaries and various experts at the U.S. Center for World Mission in Pasadena, California, this crossdenominational course has been offered worldwide with over 60,000 graduates. Each Perspectives class is taught by a different expert. A premier group of speakers will be coming from all over the U.S. to instruct and inspire you. For the serious theological student, college credit is available..

African danversWho benefits from Perspectives?
Students and their churches benefit from the change God brings as a larger vision takes hold. World Christians re-evaluate their priorities and consider their strategic place of service as these day-to-day disciples live out their global vision for the Kingdom of Christ. Persons considering cross-cultural ministry, whether short-term or career missions, will be better prepared for the task, having considered their motivations and been introduced to the challenges and strategies of intercultural ministry.
Church leaders benefit from studying the context for world evangelization. Knowledge of both our heritage and present trends and cutting-edge strategies will help leaders help their members invest their gifts strategically. The Christian community benefits as understanding of God's heart and plan for all peoples builds bridges for racial reconciliation and appreciation of other cultures.

Perspectives examines 4 aspects of God's eternal purpose:

  1. Biblical - What does God's Word reveal about His plan for all nations?
  2. Historical - How has God been working since the time of Christ to further true worship among the nations?
  3. Cultural - How does culture fit into God's global picture? How can His Gospel be effectively communicated to people with different worldviews?
  4. Strategic - How is His worldwide purpose being achieved today? What role can I play?
